Date of update: February 18

The trail is in good condition with a 1-4 inch base. It was groomed as of last Friday night (2/12). It is scheduled to be groomed this Friday and Saturday night. The trail is in good condition but still use caution when riding.

Cascade River State Park
Date of update: February 19

On February 18 1-3″ of new snow fell. The ski trails were groomed and track-set. Ski trail from County Road 45 into Cascade River State Park has been groomed and track-set as of Feb. 18. The trails are in fair condition, with trails at higher elevations in good condition and trails near Lake Superior thin and in poor condition. Track-set is thin in some spots and not established yet on the lakeshore trail.

Hikers will find hard-pack trails along the Cascade River. Hikers and snowshoers should avoid walking-on or damaging cross-country ski trails. Sections of the Norpine Trail System are now multi-use, including skiing and fat biking. Ice cleats are recommended for hiking. Note that the warming house at the trailhead is closed this year.

George H. Crosby-Manitou State Park
Date of update: February 24

Great snowshoeing with a fresh couple of inches of snow.

Temperance River State Park
Date of update: February 24

The hiking trails are largely packed by use but expect icy spots on the trails hiding under the fresh snow. Please wear traction devices on your shoes if you head out on the hiking trails.

The snowmobile trail has been groomed and is in good condition with a 3″ base.

Tettegouche State Park
Date of update: February 24

The conditions are generally fair for skiing. With the recent above freezing temperatures, conditions typical for the early “spring” skiing season with some very hard trails and mashed out tracks. The team hopes to rehab some of the trails before the weekend if conditions allow. The hiking trails are largely packed by use but expect difficult conditions on stairways. Traction devices are recommended if you are going to be hiking. Snowmobiles trails are thin but in fair condition with several recently appearing bare spots on the trails within a few miles of Lake Superior.
