The 2020 Minnesota Trout Season Opens this Weekend
This year’s trout season opener is coming up fast. On Saturday, local and visiting anglers will hit the area lakes, wet their lines in hopes of catching the ‘big one.’ The Silver Bay area has no shortage of lakes nearby. Stay close to town and take the kids to Twin Lakes (Bean and Bear) or venture farther inland to Benson or Echo lakes. Be sure to check the latest fishing regulations, ice conditions and weather before venturing out.
In true January fashion, the weather isn’t projected to be all that warm. The high on Saturday is expected to be 7F and on Sunday, 13F. However, with the right fish house, great company and a little help from a buddy heater, one can stay pretty warm regardless of the weather outside.
Make the most of your trip and mix in some snowmobile riding with your fishing. The trails out of Silver Bay are freshly groomed and in great condition. And bonus – we’re expecting another 6-10 inches of snow between Friday and Saturday.
Visit Silver Bay and kick off your 2020 trout season plans with us. Check out the area’s lodging accommodations and we’ll see you on the lake!
