As winter settles in and this weekend’s snow storm brings more powder, it’s time to make your snowmobile trip plans. Did you know that Silver Bay provides access to over 100 miles of snowmobile trails?
The trails connect to the The C.J. Ramstad/North Shore State Trail, a 146-mile natural surface trail from Duluth to Grand Marais. It runs through St. Louis, Lake and Cook counties in northeastern Minnesota, winding its way through the forests on the ridgeline overlooking Lake Superior. This trail provides access to some of the most rugged and beautiful scenery in Minnesota.
In the winter, it connects with hundreds of miles of snowmobile club trails and many communities in the area. The well marked trail system has plenty of amenities along the way such as restaurants, bars and restrooms. Check out the trail map below and start planning your trip today!
Head out of Silver Bay on the Main Corridor Trail, then cut across on the Lax Lake Trail towards Finland. Grab a bite to eat and warm up at Our Place or the West Branch. If you feel like putting on a few more miles, head to the Trestle Inn along the C.J. Ramstad/North Shore Trail and stop in for their famous Trainwreck with Casualties burger.
The snow is here to stay! Make your snowmobile trip plans today. If you haven’t made your lodging reservations yet, visit our Lodging page for details on the accommodations in our area.
